A Tribute by Fred Hardinge
Written by Wildwood Health

By Fred Hardinge

From my earliest days I can remember Dr. Marjorie as a friend of my parents. She visited our home in Loma Linda on many occasions, and as a child I always felt comfortable and happy in her presence. She always took interest in my small world, too! I can remember many pleasant Sabbath afternoon walks with the family. Even at that tender age, I knew she loved the Lord, and He was a priority in her life.
Many years later when I was working on my doctorate at Loma Linda University, I had the privilege of learning digestive physiology at her feet. While I have discarded most of my class notes from those years, I still have her outlines and notes. Each returned quiz had more than the score I earned. There was always an encouraging message in her handwriting! Each lecture beautifully painted the exquisite handiwork of the Master Creator in the digestive system and strengthened my faith in God.
When my wife, April, was pregnant with our first child, Dr. Marjorie provided expert and tender prenatal care mixed with Godly wisdom that was just what new parents needed. After Karah was born she always showed a keen interest in her welfare and development--all the way to the birth of Karsh's own children! Both April and I were privileged to have known Dr. Marjorie as a life-long friend. Her Christian character, Christlike demeanor, caring attitudes, and tender ministrations epitomized true medical ministry. While she will be missed by so many, she went to sleep in Jesus, and by His grace we will see her soon. Maranatha.
