Wildwood Hospital is a state licensed hospital that emphasizes the use of natural remedies in conjunction with lifestyle conditioning practices for those with acute health needs. As a patient in our hospital, you will receive the same supportive care that our lifestyle guests enjoy. We offer the advantages of modern medical resources combined with natural, proven methods of treatment.
“ On Wildwood Clinic, you may make appointments with our physicians through our outpatient clinic. As an outpatient, you have access to the EKG, X-ray, and laboratory services of our hospital. You also have access to our hydrotherapy, massage and spa services as prescribed by our doctors.”
Our attractive rooms feature two fully equipped hospital beds with screens between them providing privacy. Each room also has an en-suite half-bathroom and a patio area for enjoying the peaceful outside environment.
Our doctors may prescribe any array of modern diagnostic procedures which are available in our locality to help provide an accurate diagnosis. This includes EKG’s, X-rays, and other diagnostic equipment in our state licensed laboratory.
Prior to or on the day of arrival, the patient (or person financially responsible) must make a deposit of $2,850. $200.00 per day is the base rate for the room, food and nursing care. Everything else is in addition to the room and board fee. These additional costs include but are not limited to: doctor’s visits, labs, x-rays, medication, supplies, herbs, hydrotherapy treatments, massage, etc.It cannot be predicted what the costs of hospitalization will be, as they vary according to the needs of the patient. The patient may request an itemized statement at any time. All charges are taken from the deposit. When the deposit has been almost depleted, another deposit will be required to cover additional costs for the continued service.
After discharge all charges are reviewed by the Business Office and any fees not collected while the patient was in the hospital will be billed to the patient.
Wildwood does not participate in Medicare or insurance programs. Therefore, we must request the initial payment and ongoing payments to cover all expenses. You will need to submit this to your insurance company, and the insurance company will then reimburse you according to your coverage.
If you have questions, please call us at (706) 820-1493 ext. 207 and we will be happy to discuss them with you. May God bless your careful consideration of your health needs.
Treatments We Use
Our skilled physicians are able to prescribe any conventional medication, but, of course, they prefer and take pride in using natural remedies and prayer for the recovery of our patients. We offer a wide selection of treatments from enemas to blood transfusions. We have had great success in the use of hydrotherapy, massage, exercise, diet counseling, and botanical medicine.
Hydrotherapy is the internal or external use of water in any of its three forms—liquid, steam, or ice—for the treatment of disease or trauma. Here at Wildwood Lifestyle Center and Hospital we have the capacity to give over 30 different types of hydrotherapy treatments, including:
- Steam baths
- Hot and cold showers
The treatments may last anything from 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the condition of the patient and the severity of the case. For more in-depth information on our hydrotherapy treatments click here.
Diet counseling is an important part of the treatment of all of our patients. It is a well-established truth that there is a direct link between diet and health. During your stay, you will be interviewed about your previous nutritional choices and receive feedback and advice on what dietary plan is best for enhancing healing and boosting your immune system.
All of our guests will receive massage treatments from one of our experienced massage therapists. Massage helps the circulation, aids in relaxation, relieves tight, hurting muscles, improves the immune system, and brings fresh blood to the areas needed. Massage is combined with the hydrotherapy treatment to give maximum health benefits to our patients. We have a comfortable spa that is equipped with massage tables and special oils for our guests’ different needs.
Botanical medicine is the use of plants as an aid to healing. Plants are used for their medicinal values, especially in stimulating the immune system and quickening your recovery. Botanical medicine offers the benefits of drugs without the marked side effects.
Exercise is invaluable in promoting wellness, resistance to disease, and recovery from disease. One common feature of many chronic diseases is that the ability of the “power plants” of cells to produce energy is compromised. This is known as a “mitochondrial deficiency,” and it is a condition that is involved in chronic conditions such as:
- Congestive heart failure
- And many others
The good news is that regular exercise increases the number and relative volume of these powerhouses in skeletal muscle. Regular, moderate aerobic exercise slows the heart rate, lowers triglycerides, elevates HDL (the “good” cholesterol), keeps the arteries elastic, and increases the number and efficiency of white blood cells that help the body combat viruses and cancer more successfully.
At Wildwood, your physician will first evaluate your fitness level and then recommend a course of the best form of exercise known – terrain therapy – also known as “walking.” From flat walkways to rolling hills, Wildwood has a delightful variety of trails and routes to accommodate a wide range of physical abilities. If you are unsteady on your feet, we have parallel bars and a physical therapist to help you regain better balance. In addition, we provide a daily stretch class under the supervision of a trained instructor, and you have the additional option of working out in the exercise room using resistance exercises should you so choose. If you’re still feeling unmotivated, your personal lifestyle coach is never far away to offer that timely support and encouragement!
